Character.AI vs PolyBuzz: Free Access, Prices and Deletion Routes

This page covers character chat, meaning a conversation with one defined character that a user or a community has written. It is meant for readers who are 18 or older, and it is not meant for any content involving minors. The data and privacy terms described here are a snapshot. The current official policy of each platform decides what applies to you.

The short answer

Character.AI has more verified fields than PolyBuzz in this edition: three of the eight scored fields against one. That count describes what each official site states, not the quality of either platform, so no winner is declared.

Field by field

Free access: where the wording differs

Character.AI’s official table has a Free column. In that column, ads are listed as Full, and feature limits are listed as Limited. PolyBuzz’s FAQ says access is available at no cost, with an optional membership. That line does not state any limit. Under our method it is recorded as vendor-stated, and it does not count as a verified free-tier shape. Readers should not take it to mean that use has no limits.

Price and renewal

Character.AI’s subscribe page shows $9.99 on the monthly view and $94.99 on the yearly view. The page says that each subscription auto-renews and can be cancelled in settings. The annual price is billed once a year, so it is not directly comparable with a monthly figure. PolyBuzz’s membership price did not appear in the text captured from its homepage, so no paid-price comparison is possible yet.

Data and deletion

Character.AI’s privacy policy names the account profile page as the place to delete an account. It also describes a request to delete certain personal information, and it lists a copy of certain information in a portable or machine-readable format among the rights it grants. The steps for each were not opened. PolyBuzz’s footer links to a page labelled Delete Account. This edition did not open that page, so its steps are not verified. PolyBuzz’s FAQ also says its chats are private. That is the vendor’s own claim, and it was not checked against a policy text here.

Age statements

Character.AI’s official privacy page states that its services are not designed for minors under 13, and that its terms prohibit use by anyone under 13, or under 16 in the EEA and UK. A third-party review and a vendor-run roundup disagree with each other on this point, so the official page, effective 1 July 2026, is the reference to read. PolyBuzz’s age statement was not captured.

Who each side fits

A reader who wants subscription wording and an age statement in one place will find both on Character.AI’s official pages. A reader who wants a content-display rule stated in an official FAQ will find it on PolyBuzz’s FAQ. Neither comparison replaces a reading of both platforms’ current terms.

Evidence and method

Three official pages were used, all read on 16 October 2026: the Character.AI subscribe page, the Character.AI privacy page, and the PolyBuzz homepage with its FAQ. The subscribe page was read in a browser, and its monthly switch was toggled to read the monthly price without making a purchase. The privacy page was read in the same session. The PolyBuzz homepage was captured as text. Limits: the PolyBuzz pricing, privacy and delete-account pages were not opened, no account was created on either platform, and pages change without notice. Each field is recomputable from the field rules.
